👀 𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰?

𝑴𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏 50% 𝒐𝒇 𝑳𝑮𝑩𝑻𝑸𝑰𝑨+ 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒇𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒔 𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒉𝒊𝒅𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒓 𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒌 (𝑩𝑪𝑮, 2021).

Marching Sheep in collaboration with Zainab Patel recently held a session with one of India’s leading companies, and it wasn’t just a routine talk on inclusion.

It was an honest, eye-opening session filled with real examples, thought-provoking questions, and interactive moments.

From immersive activities that challenged stereotypes to reflections on everyday bias, they didn’t just speak—they sparked meaningful conversation and action.

Together, they talked about:

📍 What is the LGBTQIA+ community all about?

📍 Why do pronouns matter?

📍 How do we sometimes treat people unfairly without even realizing it?

From interactive photo quizzes to real workplace stories, the session reminded us:

➡️ You can’t assume someone’s identity.

➡️You can always ask—respectfully.

➡️Inclusion isn’t performative. It’s muscle memory.

➡️The emotional toll of “fitting in” is real.

“𝐖𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐛𝐨𝐰 𝐩𝐢𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐲. 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝—𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩.” – 𝒁𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒃 𝑷𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒍 (𝑺𝒉𝒆/𝑯𝒆𝒓)

Small actions—like adding pronouns to your email signature, correcting a joke, or simply saying “Hi folks” instead of “Hi guys”—can go a long way in signaling safety.

The session ended with a question that still lingers in our minds:

“𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕’𝒔 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒂𝒄𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒏’𝒕 𝒅𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒚𝒆𝒕?”

Maybe it’s time we all picked one—and did it.

The 10th batch of the Strategic HR Business Partner (SHRBP) Certification Programme officially kicked off on 20th June 2025—and what a fantastic start it was!

Marching Sheep, in association with FICCI Quality Forum, brought together 25 participants from 10 different organisations—creating a vibrant space filled with energy, laughter, thoughtful questions, deep reflections, and powerful peer learning.

The first session focused on the evolving role of HR—from operational support to strategic enabler.

Participants explored frameworks and mindset shifts needed to lead in today’s complex world of work. The room buzzed with curiosity, insights, and shared experiences.

Pause. Reflect. Reset.

April, the month of World Health Day, reminds us that wellbeing goes beyond just physical health—it’s about mental, emotional, and even professional renewal.

In yesterday’s edition of Delhi Times, this was beautifully echoed in a feature on sabbaticals, where Sonica Aron (She/Her/Hers) was quoted as saying that “the accomplishments made during a sabbatical are what matter most—not the break itself.” Her perspective highlights how time away can be a powerful tool for growth, not a gap to justify.

We’ve seen this firsthand in our team—one member took a sabbatical last year and returned with fresh clarity and new ideas. Another begins theirs this year, embarking on a personal journey of reflection and recharge. We at MarchingSheep celebrate this commitment to personal growth and resilience.

In fact, our Strategy Director, Alok Kohli, has been a strong advocate of this mindset and spoke at TEDx three years ago, sharing his own experience with taking a career break and how it shaped his perspective as a leader—a powerful take on how stepping away can often be the best step forward
