Sonica Aron on Delhi Times

Pause. Reflect. Reset.

April, the month of World Health Day, reminds us that wellbeing goes beyond just physical health—it’s about mental, emotional, and even professional renewal.

In yesterday’s edition of Delhi Times, this was beautifully echoed in a feature on sabbaticals, where Sonica Aron (She/Her/Hers) was quoted as saying that “the accomplishments made during a sabbatical are what matter most—not the break itself.” Her perspective highlights how time away can be a powerful tool for growth, not a gap to justify.

We’ve seen this firsthand in our team—one member took a sabbatical last year and returned with fresh clarity and new ideas. Another begins theirs this year, embarking on a personal journey of reflection and recharge. We at MarchingSheep celebrate this commitment to personal growth and resilience.

In fact, our Strategy Director, Alok Kohli, has been a strong advocate of this mindset and spoke at TEDx three years ago, sharing his own experience with taking a career break and how it shaped his perspective as a leader—a powerful take on how stepping away can often be the best step forward

Watch it here: https://lnkd.in/gACz8EF6

If you’re a leader or organization thinking about how to create space for wellbeing, reflection, and reentry—we’d love to talk.

Reach out to us to learn how sabbaticals and intentional pauses can be built into your people and wellbeing strategy.

SHE Marches development series

I was recently asked by some one, has there been any woman in your life who has been your #rolemodel.

As I reflected and tried to articulate my answer, I realised that wasn’t one, but many. Women who have had the #courage to question status quo, break the cycle of #societalnorms that shackle and constrain, have had the #resilience to live life on their own terms. One such person is Vidyashree Rai. Have known her now for more than 7 years. Have forgotten the number of initiatives we have partnered on. And the number of deep conversations we have had. Each conversation left me feeling more aware, relaxed, happier, courageous and raring to go.

So when I had to bring a speaker for one of our #SHEMarches development series, I could not think of anyone better than Vidya. And she spoke from the heart, sharing the source of her courage in the darkest moments and the source of her humility in her highest moments.

Thank you Vidyashree Rai for taking out time to #makeadifference to so many lives!

DEI Certification

Driving #Inclusion requires understanding lived realities of people belonging to different dimensions of #Diversity, understanding their challenges of serving and trying to succeed in a world that is not designed for them. Gratitude to our very own Aarushi G for sharing real life experiences at different stages during the recent session in our #DEIcertification, from education to travel, to visiting offices, to applying for employment, to working with other #PersonswithDisabilities for building #employability. The fact is that for all the awareness and PR, the awareness around basic concepts like #Reasonableaccomodations #accessibility beyond infrastructure, building #disabilityconfidentorganisations #21disabilities covered under the #RPWDact2016 is still very low.

HR Desk- FICCI Quality Forum and team MarchingSheep are proud to drive a certification that truly makes a difference.

International Womens Day

March this year has been an interesting month. There was a lot of speculation on whether #Internationalwomensday will be observed with the same fervour as previous years. Some people I met in a conference in February earlier commented almost with a perverse glee that finally companies will not get on the “IWD bandwagon” this year.

Well, there has been a change. There has been a shift, not in the number of interventions or companies observing the month on letter and spirit, but in the nature of interventions.

Despite #IWD2025 falling on a Saturday, despite, Holi falling right in the week after leading to a long weekend in India, it’s been a packed two weeks for the team at MarchingSheep. No performative fun programs, but high impact journeys kick-started to drive #careerintentionality #buildingpersonalidentity #definingsuccess #redefiningleadership and so much more.

#accelerateaction is about making a tangible difference to #metricsthatmatter. I hope this puts the speculation to rest.

Session on Creating Safe Spaces

One of the things I thrive on is creating safe spaces—where exploration and reflection are not just encouraged but deeply felt. Spaces where people can bring their experiences, challenge perspectives, and grow together.

In a recent workshop, I had the privilege of tapping into the collective intelligence of a room full of enthusiastic learners. Through activities and games, we explored two essential yet often tricky questions:

~ How can we integrate #empathy into everyday practice while maintaining #accountability and #productivity?

~ How do we foster #curiosity without crossing personal #boundaries?

The insights that emerged were thought-provoking, reinforcing that empathy and curiosity are not just abstract concepts but skills that can be nurtured through intentional practice.

The energy, engagement, and willingness to reflect made this session a truly rewarding experience. Feel grateful every time I get an opportunity to facilitate such conversations!

Meeting Shri Dr Jitendra Singh Ji, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for the Ministry of Science & Technology and Ministry of Earth Sciences.

It was a pleasure meeting Shri Dr Jitendra Singh Ji, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for the Ministry of Science & Technology and Ministry of Earth Sciences. We had the opportunity to share about our work at MarchingSheep in the area of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB), Persons with Disabilities (PwD), and workplace culture transformation. We also discussed the last mile execution gap that prevents an inclusive society.

We deeply appreciate the insights and encouragement we received from him. His perspective on fostering innovation through inclusivity was truly inspiring.

Looking forward to continued efforts in driving meaningful impact and collaboration in this space!

Development Journey Program for Womens

Another #Developmentjourney came to an end yesterday. In the last few months, we have run parallel batches for 6 different organizations from different industries- Healthcare, FMCG, Financial sector, Automotive, Infrastructure, Energy. Each journey was different as the nature of cohort was different, from #earlycareer professionals to #midmanagement to #leaders aspiring for #CXO positions. Each journey ended with every participant having a clear #goal and #actionplan, a sense of purpose, pride and confidence.

Very often, we are asked, why do we still need separate development journeys for women? The candid conversations, reflections, questions, sharing, peer learning in these sessions addresses the skepticism. The #transformation each participant goes through is palpable. Cheers to many more of these journeys and to continue to #makeadifference.

SHE Marches Program

Every #developmentjourney is unique. Journey of every participant is unique. We at MarchingSheep are privileged to see the #transformation at each milestone of the journey but we truly live for that moment at the end of the program when every participant has a clear success #goal and #actionplan. We live for the bright smiles, the shining eyes, the high fives and the victory signs! Completed yet another journey earlier this week. Cheers to many more to come!
